The Bible is filled with verses that highlight God's willingness to answer the prayers of His people. These scriptures emphasize the importance of faith, sincerity, and aligning one's requests with God's will.

Prayer is the most misunderstood art by many people of this world. Now before I go deep into praying one should have a profound knowledge on scriptures and parables for prayer. Prayer is being thought of as a practice of asking God for some favours. But the fact is Prayer is a two way communication with the creator and it does not mandatorily require only asking God to do something but it does involve in God asking us also to do some thing.

There are many bible scriptures about God answering prayer for example, in Matthew 7:7, Jesus teaches, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” This verse encourages believers to approach God with their needs and desires.

1 John 5:14 offers further assurance: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” This verse underscores the idea that God listens to prayers that align with His divine purpose.

Throughout the Bible, you can find numerous passages that reassure believers that God answers their prayers, provides guidance, and offers comfort during times of need. These scriptures serve as a source of inspiration and hope for those who turn to God in prayer.

What Are The Scriptures About God Answering Prayer

The Lords Prayer

In the Book of Matthew, Chapter 6, Verses 5-15, Jesus provides guidance on prayer to his disciples. He begins by emphasizing that prayer should be a personal and sincere communication with God, rather than a show for others. Jesus then shares a model prayer, which is now known as the Lord’s Prayer.

“Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. Amen.”

This prayer is a central part of Christian tradition and is often recited in various forms of worship and personal devotion. It’s a prayer that reflects on seeking God’s guidance, provision, forgiveness, and protection.

Most of our Christians after finishing their regular prayer or family prayer do recite The Lords Prayer which Jesus taught his disciples is ought to be done first rather than last.

Jesus encourages his followers to use this prayer as a template for their own prayers. He emphasizes the importance of forgiveness and the idea that God will provide for their needs. This teaching serves as a foundational guide for Christian prayer practices and is often recited by Christians in various forms of worship and personal devotion.

The key lesson which Jesus wanted to share is that prayer should be genuine, personal, and focused on a deep connection with God. It’s not about using many words or making a public display but rather about the sincerity of one’s relationship with the divine.

So, I encourage whoever reading this post to memorise the above shared bible verses about God answering Prayer and apply them in your life to commune with God. In the coming posts I would like to emphasize more about prayer hopefully from parables found in the Bible.
